This page explains the current product’s privacy approach in plain language. It should be read alongside any formal notices shown when you create an account or connect a provider.
What Plot It stores
Plot It stores the account and trip information needed to provide a persistent workspace: trips, membership, structured recommendations, review decisions, itinerary items and provenance. Provider SDK objects and raw private-media payloads are not part of the domain model.
Screenshots and other media
Uploaded image bytes enter temporary storage for processing. The product records structured extraction results and deletion status rather than retaining the original media. Cleanup is attempted after processing succeeds or fails, with an expiry sweep as a fail-safe.
AI-assisted processing
Submitted evidence may be processed by the configured extraction provider to suggest structured place information. Suggestions remain candidates for review. Plot It does not rely on model memory as the source of current place facts.
Links and connected services
Source URLs are treated as untrusted. Supported providers are accessed through bounded interfaces. Protected social content may require evidence you provide, such as a caption or screenshot, rather than being accessed without authorisation.
Access and collaboration
Trip-scoped operations are authorised against trip membership. A trip can support owner, editor and viewer roles, although not every collaboration interface is available yet.
Your choices
You can review and correct extracted details before accepting them. Product interfaces and applicable account notices provide the current controls for your data. Do not submit material you do not have the right to use.
